Details

Gesso is very similar to acrylic paint, only thinner. It dries hard, making the surface more stiff. Gesso prepares (or "primes") Bible Pages for painting, making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept a variety of medias. Without gesso, Journalers run the risk of their artwork bleeding through.
